Automatic Transfer Switches
Automatic transfer switches or ATS’s constantly monitor the power being received. Any irregularities such as brownouts, sags, voltage spikes, or outages will trigger the circuit to signal a generator to start and will then flow the proper amount of voltage until the generator output levels are back to normal.
When power returns or no irregularities have occurred for a set amount of time, the transfer switch will then revert back to monitoring mode and signal the backup generator to turn off.

100A ASCO 185 Series
ASCO Series 185 Power Transfer Switches offers your generator immediate notification in case of power failure. When it senses a loss of incoming utility power it sends a signal to the generator to start and resume power to your residence or place of business. As soon as utility power has resumed, the Series 185 Automatic Transfer Switch automatically transfers your power needs back to the utility source and shuts the generator down. All this is done hands off even when you aren’t present. Compatible with most generator brands in the market, the ASCO Series 185 Automatic Transfer Switch gives you comfort in knowing that your power needs will always be met. ASCO Series 185 Automatic Transfer Switches are right for operation with portable or permanently mounted standby generators supporting loads up to 200 Amps.
